Meet Mrs. Katie Welling
In 2005, I graduated from St. Ambrose University with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and Language Arts. In the fall of 2005, I joined Pleasant View's staff as a 4th grade teacher. Four years later, I moved down the hallway to teach 1st grade and absolutely love it! First graders are the best! In 2013, I graduated from Walden University with a Masters of Science in Education with a specialization in Reading and Literacy, Preschool to 6th Grade. I am really looking forward to a happy, productive, and successful school year of growing and learning while working with you and your family!
When I am not at Pleasant View, I am spending time with my family and friends. My husband, Luke, and I have three little boys and one not so little Bernedoodle. Two of my three boys attend Pleasant View. We all have loads of fun playing all different kinds of sports outside, especially soccer, basketball, kickball, baseball, swimming, and riding bikes. We also love cuddling up to read together, going to the pool, learning how to play the piano, and having a movie night. Mr. Welling, the boys, and I also like to take trips to the Chicago area to visit our sister, hang out with our family here, and rock out at my brother's jam sessions. When I am not hanging out with my boys at home, I enjoy reading, working out, and catching up with my friends, parents, sisters, and brothers.
